Handwoven Ecru Silk Shawl
For this wrap I used a rough bourette silk in natural ecru and a lovely off-white Chinese spun silk. The two different textures create an interesting fabric, with the spaced bourette warp allowing little glimpses of the lustrous spun silk to show through. It is lightweight, great for the warmer days ahead and because of this it could double as a scarf.
It measures 19" x 73", 48cm x 185cm and is finished with a simple knotted fringe.

I started handweaving after I was given a large 1930's Harris floor loom and that was the beginning of my love affair with weaving!
