Church on Spilled Blood, St Petersburg
Church on Spilled Blood, St Petersburg
This Moscow-style church with richly coloured onion domes is seen from the Field of Mars in the centre of St. Petersburg. It got its awkward name because it was built on the spot where Tsar Alexander II was murdered in 1881. The modern citizens are no different from those in any European City!

Mr David Welsh

He enjoys portrait painting, as well as landscape work where his specialities are the effect of light, often on water, and interesting and dramatic clouds and skies. In fact he enjoys any new challenge.
