Pippa Unwin

I am a stonemason/carver based near Salisbury with several years’ experience using mainly local limestones and slate. I originally trained and worked as a children’s book illustrator but wanting to work in 3D, I attended Bath College of Stonemasonry. I started as an apprentice in Salisbury, but now work freelance. My work varies widely - restoration projects such as Parnham House; working with architects on newbuilds, providing everything from finials to fireplaces; letter cutting and relief carving – for example, two large picture panels and a 5metre long name plaque for a town hall. Sculpture commissions include a full-size wild boar, a gorilla, two parrots and several dogs. I live in Salisbury with my twin sons and dog, Beetle.
